If you hear your student talking about homework lunch, you can assume he or she has missing assignments.  Homework lunch is an academic intervention used by some of the teachers at Kerr.  When students have missing assignments, their names are given to the homework lunch coordinator for their grade level on Thursday.  Students are contacted, in person, on Friday and told exactly what assignments are incomplete.  If the work is not turned in first thing Monday morning, the student gets a pass for homework lunch.  The pass allows that student to go to the front of the lunch line in order to get food quickly, taking it to the assigned room where they eat and work during the lunch period.  They continue this process each day until the work is complete.  Our hope is that homework lunch provides an incentive for students to do the work at home, or if that is not possible, a time in the day when the assignments can be completed.  If you have questions concerning homework lunch, please contact Jennifer Powers, Academic Assistant Principal, at 817.447.5810.

According to The Texas Public School Nutrition Policy you may only bring food for your OWN child. Please do not bring food for other children, even with the other parent's permission.
