Where to buy uniforms
The Academy at Nola Dunn Dress Code is established to teach grooming
and hygiene, prevent disruption, minimize safety hazards, and create a
sense of equality on our campus.Students at the Academy at Nola Dunn wear uniforms that include:
Girls:
- Jumper (plaid)
- Skort (plaid, navy or khaki)
- Long or short sleeve piped blouse (white)
- Walking shorts (navy or khaki)
- Slacks (navy or khaki)
- Long or short sleeve Polo knit (hunter green, white, or navy)
- Sweater vest (navy or hunter green)
- Sweatshirt w/Logo (navy or hunter green)
- Jacket (navy) - Logo optional
- Cardigan sweater (navy or hunter green) - Logo optional
- Belts (brown, black, navy blue) (Available from any source.)
- School T-shirt (Fridays only)
- Slacks (navy or khaki)
- Walking shorts (navy or khaki)
- Long or short sleeve Oxford shirt (white)
- Crew socks, which cover the ankle, knee socks, or tights must be worn (solid uniform colors only)
- Tennis/athletic shoes (primarily white, black, or navy in color)
- Oxford style shoes (brown, black, or navy)
- No sandals or backless shoes
The student's dress and grooming:
- Shall not lead school officials to believe that such dress or grooming will disrupt, interfere with, disturb, or detract from school activities.
- Shall not create a health hazard to the student's safety or to the safety of others.
- It is recommended that elementary dress be appropriate to the school day's activities.
- Clothing which exposes the stomach and hips shall not be worn.
- Shorts, skorts, and jumpers may not be hemmed shorter than three inches above kneecap.
- Student names shall not be monogrammed on uniform clothing.
- Shorts or tights shall be worn under plaid jumpers during all P.E. activities.
- No hats or scarves are to be worn inside the building except for special days.
- Girls may wear non-distracting hair accessories in keeping with the color of our uniforms.
- No degree of sag (pants) will be permitted. If pants are loose at the waist, a belt must be worn.
- Jewelry that causes a distraction or is of a dangerous nature will not be allowed.
- Non-uniform coats and jackets may be worn outside of the classroom.
- Students may wear long-sleeved turtlenecks under their polo shirts as long as the colors match (i.e. white under white, navy under navy, etc).
Students who come to school out of uniform will be sent to the office to receive a letter describing any clothing that is not in compliance with the dress code. In the event of a third warning, a parent conference will be scheduled.
